A hybrid truss bridge was designed and tested to study load transfer, member behavior, and failure. Digital structural analysis informed member sizing and force distribution, while physical testing exposed the limits of idealized simulations—highlighting the impact of joint design, material behavior, and construction precision on real structural performance.

Forth Bridge Analysis
Studying the Forth Bridge emphasized the importance of expressing structure as both system and form. Its repetitive modular elements, clear load paths, and legible hierarchy demonstrated how structural logic can generate architectural identity. These principles informed our bridge design by prioritizing structural clarity, rhythmic repetition, and the honest expression of forces, allowing the bridge to read as a cohesive system rather than a decorative object.
